How to Identify Your Fridge Freezer Hinges

Identifying fridge freezer hinges can be confusing because several hinge types look similar. Use the steps below to correctly identify the hinge you need.

1. Remove the Hinge

Remove the hinge with the hinge in the closed position.

Most hinges have identification numbers stamped on:

The fixing plate (the part that attaches to the door)

Sometimes on the face that screws to the fridge

These numbers help confirm the correct hinge model.

2. Check the Hinge Position

The hinge position is always taken from standing in front of the fridge door.

A pair of hinges can usually be fitted left or right, depending on the model.

Hettich Hinges

How to Identify Hettich Hinges

Remove the hinge with it closed.

Look for numbers on the fixing plate (format often looks like: XXXX X.X).

Some Hettich hinges also show measurements such as 41.5 or 45 on the face that screws to the fridge.

Important Notes for Hettich Hinges

Numbers inside the hinge on their own do NOT identify the hinge model.

Always compare your hinge to the product photos in the listing.

Some Hettich hinges include additional brackets on the fridge‑mounting face — these must match your original hinge.

Check if your hinge has an additional fixing bracket as shown below.
