Tumble Dryer Belt, Most Lengths Sizes Available

When replacing tumble dryer belts, you need to make sure that the 4-digit number on the replacement is the same as the old belt. For example, your old belt may have 6PHE 1991. The important number is the 1991. The 4-digit number is the belt size in millimetres.

To find the correct belt, remove your old belt and look for the 4-digit number. You then need to find your number in the drop-down menu above.

Fitting Washing Machine and Tumble Dryer Motor Drive Belts.

IF THE BELT APPEARS TO BE TOO LONG

If the code on the new belt matches the existing belt and the belt appears to be too long then

Check the has been installed correctly around the pulley.   HERE ARE SOME EXAMPLES:

Dryer Belt Puiiey Configurations

IF THE BELT APPEARS TOO SMALL

Most modern washing machine and washer dryer drive belts are often of the type that is referred to in the trade as a "stretch" type drive belt. The "stretch" to fit and are or, can be, incredibly tight and difficult to fit. For a novice it can look as though it is impossible to fit one of these tumble dryer drive belts but, if the sizes are correct it will fit. Belts usually have a code on them which will tell you he length and the number of ridges. the number of ridges can sometimes change this generally does not matter as long as the drive has the room to accommodate if the ridge number have increase.

Fitting the belt

Make sure that any remains of old belt are removed, especially around the motor pulley if the old one has frayed away as, all too often, strands of the material will wrap around the motor pulley shaft and can impair performance or even cause damage. Errant strands and faulty pulleys can also just wreck the new belt that you are about to fit, so it's well worth having a check.

Belts are fed on and many modern ones can be an absolute pain to fit as they can be extremely tight going on. Be very careful as if you get a finger trapped in there it's going to hurt and, if it catches a sharp edge it's going to hurt even more.

So, starting at the bottom place the belt around the motor drive pulley and bring it up to the drum pulley. Place the drive side onto the drum pulley keeping the belt taught and work it around the drum pulley slowly by turning the pulley whilst holding the belt in place. Doing it this way you have a far greater chance of success and of not getting injured.
